The Assa Abloy Whitco Standard Chainwinder is a non-keyed chain type window operator designed for aluminum or timber awning (top hung) windows with butt or hook hinges, or non friction stays.

- Smooth operation able to work through flyscreen.
- Maximum opening of 300 mm (11-13/16").
- Sill mount chainwinder suitable for aluminum or wood awning windows.
- Foldable operator handle reduces depth helping to prevent interference with blinds and shutters.
- Designed for face (front) mount awning window sash applications
- NOTE: Customized version available for under mount chain sash plate mounting.
- Easily restrict window openings to the following lengths:
- 100 mm (3-15/16").
- 150 mm (5-29/32").
- Retrofits Whitco Chainwinder MK7 and MK8 models.
- Maximum sash weight of 15kg when using 300 mm (11-13/16") full length opening setup.
- Recommended maximum sash width of 900 mm (35-7/16") to ensure proper weather sealing.

Ontario Glazing Supplies offers two chain sash plate options:
Face mount chain sash plates are commonly found in residential applications. Under mount chain sash plates are commonly found in commercial applications such as schools. Older models of the Whitco chainwinder featured a different mounting bracket that accomodated such installations. Over the years repair was somewhat complicated, requiring window service personnel to re-rivot old chain sash plates with new operator chain. Not anymore!
This type of chain sash plate is affixed to the face (front) of the opening sash.
Ontario Glazing Supplies has developed a customized chain sash plate for Assa Abloy Whitco Standard Chainwinders making it easy to mount the latest version of chainwinders to applications that require under mount chain sash plate applications.
Simply remove the old under mount bracket and chain winder and replace with OGS's customized Whitco chainwinder.
CORROSION RESISTANCE
Available in two corrosion resistant finishes:
Standard grade of steel for Assa Abloy Whitco Standard Chainwinder window
operators.
Characteristics of note include:
- Cost effective.
- Minimal effect to powder coated Aluminum sill section after 96 hours Neutral Salt Spray.
Available as an upgrade. Not currently a stocked item. Characteristics compared to mild steel include:
- More expensive.
- Stainless steel chain and base plate.
- Increased corrosion resistance.
